New Diaspora Consortium Leads The Way

Marilyn Comrie, CEO LeaderGen is the creative genius behind the formation of the world’s first multinational consultancy to grow the talents and capabilities of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora, to meet the Millennium Development Goals.

The African Caribbean Business Consortium ( ACBC) exists to develop the full potential of African Caribbean people to drive economic, social and environmental transformation across the globe for the benefit of humanity.

The ACBC ‘s core strategic objectives to realize its vision are:-

  • Provision of bespoke learning solutions to release the full potential of African Caribbean human capital and other key target groups to enhance business and economic performance.
  • Using enterprise to assist African Caribbean countries to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and effect desired transformation through effective leadership and management training, human resource development, and private sector development.
  • To facilitate and act as a conduit for inter-Diaspora Trade between Africa, The Americas (Caribbean, North and South America ), and Europe.
  • To raise the profile of ACBC Ltd regionally, nationally and globally as a centre for excellence in leadership and human capital development, and a model of best practice to light the way for the African Renaissance.
  • Business acquisitions of strategic targets to complement and add value to ACBC’s portfolio of products and services to drive its ambitious growth plans.

The ACBC has its sights set on becoming the world’s first African Caribbean-owned multinational consultancy, with the goal of becoming an economic powerhouse capable of securing significant global market share of workplace, business and community learning provision.

The Consortium is lead by Marilyn Comrie, and has a number of other high profile members including commercial lawyer Rudi Kidd, who with Anthony H Wilson, co-founded the global music conference  In The City which is now in its 17 year. 

Set up in August 2008, the consortium has already secured a number of major contracts:-

  • A £100k Rites of Passage pilot funded by the Learning & Skills Council, and which will be delivered in partnership with Manchester College to engage with young people at risk of gang membership and criminal activity.
  • A research contract in East Africa commissioned by the Foreign Office.
  • A partnership with the largest learning provider in Europe to deliver educational services in prisons.
  • A raft of leadership training and human resource development projects working with the government and business community of Somaliland in East Africa.
