Advancing Women To The Top
Leaderene Plus is a specially designed leadership capacity building programme to retain and advance and high potential women into senior management or board level positions within the corporate and public sector. Leaderene Plus is based on best practice research into strategies that work for advancing women into senior positions. Leaderene’s learning through doing approach, including a 6 month secondment at board or senior management level, will equip participants with the critical leadership competencies, hands on experience and confidence to function effectively at the highest level of decision-making.
Leaderene Plus has been specially developed in response to this need. The combination of 21st Century leadership training, 1-2-1 coaching, work experience at senior board or cabinet level, peer-to-peer learning, and mentoring will leverage the skills, talents and intellect of women to contribute to organisational growth and success.
Who for?
High potential women within the public & corporate sector who have been assessed and identified as having the ability to make it to the top. The programme is designed to have an impact at the level of the individual, the managerial level, and the organisational level.
The Leaderene programme will stimulate and challenge participants to think about their contribution as a strategic leader, and identify areas for improvement. It will empower them to develop a new perspective on the company to lead it to greater success.
Programme Content
Leaderene will provide the following tailored support appropriate to individual and business circumstances:
- Bespoke leadership capacity development workshops to provide practical, hands-on knowledge of key leadership competencies such as visioning, strategic planning, implementation, performance monitoring, leadership attributes & behaviours, managing people, creating high performance cultures, change management etc.
- 1-2-1 leadership coaching to provide a confidential, and safe environment for participants to discuss challenges, sound out their ideas, and clarify their thinking. The coach’s role is to keep them on track for achieving agreed goals and targets. Delivered at 6 weekly intervals.
- 6 month secondments at board or cabinet level to demystify the process and build confidence by providing a breadth of practical experience operating at the highest levels of decision-making.
- Provision of high visibility work assignments/and or clients to raise the profile of the participants in their organisation.
- Mentoring by influential persons within organisation.
- Peer-To-Peer learning and support.
- Access to informal networks to promote visibility and contacts with influential persons both within the organisation and beyond.

Design and Delivery
- Initial contact with CEO, HR Director and key stakeholders to agree scope, outcomes and timescales.
- Identification and development of high potential employees to participate.
- Induction workshop for participants and their line management.
- Individual learning needs assessment to evaluate specific development issues/challenges and diagnose best fit intervention for each participant.
- Development of programme proposal with cost breakdown
- Interim period of preparation of programme workshops, materials and resources.

Learning Styles
The programme will place a great emphasis on practical and experiential learning based on the real challenges of the leader for improving individual effectiveness. Participants will be encouraged to keep personal learning logs to record their learning and personal objectives, and chart their progress in meeting objectives.
